Craftsman Design
Craftsman design was popularized by Gustav Stickley in the early 1900s. Craftsman home design,
like Stickley's simple yet beautiful furniture, is based on quality construction that
substitutes "the luxury of taste for the luxury of costliness." Craftsman design
invokes a warm
sense of Americana. At Anders Lewendal Construction, working to our clients' goals,
we often incorporate craftsman features into our homes. We look to blend the home into
its environment and employ simple, elegant lines to create visual interest. Often the
entry shares space with a large sitting porch for enjoying good times with friends. Interiors
emphasize form and function--often exposed structural elements provide decorative
detail. Other design elements might include the use of rich woods, built-in window
seats or cabinets, and complementary light and hardware fixtures. We look forward
